- MUSIC: are you listening to “your” music? Are you listening music at all?
- “TO DO LISTS” list: there’s nothing on on your to-do list that is about YOU. Not one thing that you’d add “get” in front of – that is “I GET to do…” All the items are about someone or something else. Nothing that was fun, playful, or creative.
- READING: if you’re a reader, do you still read for pleasure?
- SOCIALIZING: Do you say “yes” to invitations or do you find yourself thinking “NO” before you even know what the invitation’s for…
- WRITING: if you’re a journaler or writer, are you still writing?
- WEIGHT: are you gaining or losing?
- CREATING: Do you have art supplies that have been in a box or your closet – FOR MONTHS OR YEARS!
- PERFORMANCE: if you enjoy live performances – do you seek out opportunities to participate as an audience member or performer?
- APPEARANCE: Do you take time to wear clothing that makes you feel like you? When you’re at home do you dress to feel good, or become what Oprah calls a “schlumpadinka’? Do you put on shoes at home?
These were all clues to me that something had to change… I was losing my Me-ness. My mojo… essential coolness!
I felt boring. AND I KNEW I WAS NOT A BORING PERSON… I’D ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF THE FUN GIRLS!
Basically… I stopped doing the things I loved, stopped wearing the funky clothes and jewelry I’d loved, stopped letting my creativity out.
